Quercegobbe is the name of a plot of land located in the center of the vineyards that surround the Petra winery. On a slight slope, perfectly ventilated, with direct exposure to the sea and consisting of clay soils similar to those of Pomerol, an impressive Merlot ripens here: densely woven and of great aromatic persistence, with the typical notes of berries and the warm spice typical of Maremma. The wine matures partly in 600-liter new oak barrels and partly in used barriques and therefore looks ultra-modern, but not outdated: juice and fruit retain the upper hand.
