About the wine
With the delicious Fontalloro, which was produced in 2011, you will definitely have a lot of fun. Blooming and fertile Tuscan landscapes give us these grapes, from which the winemaker from the Italian winery Fattoria di Felsina conjures up this red wine with refinement and experience.

Tasting note
The Fontalloro is the epitome of a Fèlsina Sangiovese. Bright ruby red color with purple reflections. On the nose, strong aromas of blackcurrants, plums and cherries paired with spicy notes of licorice, pipe tobacco and some black olive inspire. On the palate, the lively character is pleasing with lots of sweet red Sangiovese fruit, velvety tannins and well-integrated acidity. An elegant Sangiovese with lots of energy and great storage potential.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with all hearty meat dishes, especially lamb, game and wild fowl.
Vinification
The Sangiovese grapes for Fontalloro come from the border region between Chianti Classico and Chianti Colli Senesi. In Classico, the vines are rooted on stony and calcareous soils and in Senesi on sandy-loamy soils with pebbles and marine sediments. The grapes are picked by hand, carefully selected and then fermented in steel tanks. The aging takes place in new and one-year French barriques for 18-22 months. After bottling, the wine ages in the bottle for a further 12 months.
